[Something similar? Blue's frown doesn't go away, because of what he knows about their world it's... so much unpleasantness....]
[Was he making him uncomfortable, asking something like this of him? Should he just drop it?]
[He knows Killua is the type to just swallow it down and keep it moving, but Blue doesn't want him to have to do that. He hesitates, and seems to search his face for a moment, but--]
[Like previous times, he decides to let it go..... for the moment.]
Well...... I guess that's why I wanted you to help. [Blue fiddles with the stone, its marbled colors leaving a shadow on the counter.] I have no idea about any of that kind of thing, but I thought that if I try to do the same training as you, me and Pidgeot could find some to-- I dunno. Synch up our aura, or whatever?
--Ah, I chose Pidgeot to be my partner for this. Steven said it had to be a fully evolved Pokémon, and... [He glances towards Eevee, exchanging knowing looks.] I don't have any intentions of ever making him evolve.
[Killua smiles, wholly and earnestly again, and he leans forward on his palm. he watches Blue's resolve with a sort of marked fondness, more pleasant thoughts kept private, rather than any torturous memories. he knows that Blue is like him, and Gon, and everyone else here—unable to really stretch in their element, confined by limitations of another world. so it's nice to see him engaging in it, and... nice that he wants Killua involved.
[For some reason, the way Killua's eyes upon him feel as he explains his intentions...]
[It feels nice. For reasons he can't describe. He couldn't begin to guess what Killua is thinking about- what training techniques he's going to try with Blue, or maybe a memory from home. A better one, hopefully- he didn't look quite so anxious anymore.]
[He looked kind of ...happy. Was he just biased in wanting to imagine that?]
[Blue feels his cheeks pink a little, and he pulls his eyes away to drop to the Key Stone again.]
Mm... Thanks, then. Let's figure out some time to try that stuff out.
telepathy | pretend this is closer to the actual vandalism lmf....
[Oops. Well, he doesn't mind if the human is a bit off-balance during their conversation. It's more fun that way.]
Not everyone in Verens needs to rely upon the amulets for communication. If you prefer, I will "call" you on them, but I believe they only increase my psychic powers. [Braggart.]
Well, Exeggutor tells me things all the time... Though he doesn't speak human language clearly, like you do...
[It was more like impressions, images, ideas... Exeggutor got his ideas across like planting a seed in one's mind, which was very appropriate for the Grass and Psychic type, but Blue had an easy time understanding him after so long being his trainer.]
I didn't know there were any Wild Pokémon here, though. My Pokémon didn't get any amulets.... And the stupid Welcome Center people shrugged me off when I asked why... Whatever... That means you have one, right?
[This voice still pings him as so familiar, and yet he just can't seem to place it. But.... this was a Pokémon. How could he recognize a Pokémon's voice? Did Psychic types' telepathic messages sometimes just come across as a subconsciously familiar voice, or something??]
[--Ah, he wonders idly whether the Pokémon could hear these thoughts of his, too... He wonders if it's the same as the amulets.... Hmmm...]
Oh... Do you mean he told you about me? I'm kinda surprised. He usually keeps to himself....
[No amulets for Blue's team, then. He supposes it's not surprising; he had no evidence that any Pokemon other than him had ever possessed one. It would've been interesting, though. Ah well.]
I do possess one. And I have heard of you from a variety of sources. [MYSTERIOUS] For example, I am aware that you participated in the vandalization of the Beastmaster's Guild.
[He actually has a couple of other questions, but he wants to see how Blue reacts to this one first.]
[There's a mental, indignant jolt, and he briefly considers how the heck he found out about that, but--]
...That useless old pirate...
[OBVIOUSLY it wasn't Plumeria-neechan, so!!]
...Um, yeah, well, what about it...? A Pokémon shouldn't have a problem with that, right? You know what kinds of stuff those humans are responsible for!?
[What an utterly unexpected delivery. Blue doesn't know if Arden and Naminé knew that Blue and Killua lived together, but the simultaneous cookie arrival had them glancing at each other curiously, and learning a little more about the common threads of their friend circles.]
[Well, it was true they were all about the same age...... As far as Blue knows]
[He thinks about what he thought about when he and Arden talked about Aiada- things like loneliness, or longing for someone to relate to.... and it sort of gets him in the same place it struck him then, that Arden would think of him like this. But he tries not to let his tenderness show when he sends a message over his crystal, later in the day.]
Hey, Arden!
Our house is gonna be totally stuffed with cookies, but... I'll forgive you, since you're a pal. Heh heh.
[ Nope that wasn't intentional at all. He'd interacted with Killua and Blue in completely different ways for completely different reasons, and didn't know either of them well enough to know where the delivery had to go. He'd been in a whirl with so many, jumping from one Dark Corridor to another. ]
[Blue laughs cheerfully] That's right! We're roommates, though I guess most of our other friends haven't met, that I know of...! Teleporting!? That sounds cool... Like an Abra...
How d'you know him? I had no idea you two were friends, too.
Anyway... Same way I meet just about anyone - if it's not in-person at the Bakery. Most of the stuff I hear on the Crystal being broadcast outwards doesn't really need me being another voice chiming, but every so often I hear something that catches my attention. Killua's message was one of those times, since he mentioned memories - and combat.
I call it teleporting so other people know what I mean, but actually I'm just walking through doorways in the shadows. It looks like teleportation to most people, though.
On the crystals? Oh... I guess I never realized he uses them like that. Talking to mass audiences, I mean.
[Sure, Blue had received messages like that in the past, but he didn't make too much use of it, himself. It was kind of like a telepathic chat room...]
[Memories and combat? Blue's stomach squeezes a little, thinking of what kinds of things he was talking about given what he knows about Killua, but he tries not to linger on it.]
--That sounds really cool... What kind of power is that? In shadows... like a ghost!?
[Mewtwo isn't sure how he feels about that useless old pirate at the moment, but he can figure that out later. Right now, it's time to find out more about Blue Oak.]
I am simply curious as to your reasoning for participating. I certainly do not care for the Beastmaster's Guild, but I was not invited.
First of all, it was my idea in the first place!!! [Blue irritably huffs. How dare someone else take credit for his brilliant, mastermind plan!!]
[It was okay to admit that to a Pokémon, right? Anyway...]
It should be obvious why, right? Those people are awful! Killing any living thing just cuz it inconveniences you.... People around here really have no respect for nature. And no one else even seems to care!
Not even some of the other trainers.... [He scoffs bitterly. Many trainers had been here already, adults even, and none of them even thought it was a problem. He doesn't understand it at all.] So I.... decided that maybe people would pay attention to what was really going on here, if I made a big scene about it...
[Not only is this human not ashamed to have committed a crime, he wants proper credit for being the mastermind behind it. Fascinating.]
You are an interesting human. [It's what he said to Archie as well, and his inflection makes it sound like a positive assessment. It's......nice to find out that there are trainers like this around here.]
I am not certain that much attention was paid, however. [...] Perhaps they prefer not to consider the morality of the Beastmasters Guild because they can make money off of it.
Look, hey! It's.... not a crime if it's morally correct, right!? That's how this works, right]
I'm super interesting! After all, I'm one of the strongest trainers in the world!
[That's a word for it, Mewtwo.]
[Blue deflates, however, at his... perhaps too-blunt observation, and grumbles.] ...Well, no one came and yelled at us for it, I think, so... Maybe I shouldn't be too upset about that--
But, you're totally right! Most of the adult trainers don't even care that innocent monsters are getting hurt! Even that stupid bug loser takes jobs from those jerks! Well, he's a huge jerk, so I guess it's not a surprise, but I wonder how his Pokémon feel about it...
Mmm... I don't think I'd call it like a ghost. It's more like... finding a secret passageway that not everyone can see? And not everyone has a key to the door, either. And the hallway is musty, making it hard for some people to get through without getting sick along the way unless they're used to it, or just strong enough to handle it. The passages require special outfits to get through them, magic spells to act like that, or just having a power over darkness to keep those bad feelings at bay. Even then it's hard on some people... like me.
But around here I don't travel in them very often, and when I do it's not for long periods of time either. Walking around in darkness for too long... it's not a good idea.
[ He says having had multiple conversations now with both Riku and Aqua. ]
Plus, I can't get between islands using it anyway.
[Well, Blue doesn't get it at all, but it still sounds cool! A secret passageway sounds kinda like a secret base, which is also cool.]
[Boys will be boys.]
I'm sure you know what you're doing, so it can't be that bad. Anyway, I'm glad that you're pals with Killua, too! It's convenient when you've got mutual friends with people, right?
And anyway, that guy acts like he's moody and withdrawn sometimes, but it's all an act! He totally likes hanging out with people. I bet he really appreciated that you left him something.
